Advantages of Flexographic Printing

December 23, 2020 Published by Walt Categorised in: Printing Services

Flexographic printing is a commercial printing style used by companies that need high volumes of labels and packaging. In the process, a flexible raised surface plate creates prints on a variety of different materials. Apart from its ability to print on almost any substrate, the variety of inks used consistently produce high-quality prints.

There are a few flexographic printing advantages companies should keep in mind as they try to fulfill their printing needs.

Automated

Once printing is set up, the process becomes rather automated. The material used for printing is fed into the flexographic printing machine from a roller, which passes through each of the plates used, one by one. The plates roll the ink onto the material, which, in the end, is cut into the right size by the cutting die.

The automation of the process is what gives it such an advantage over the rest of the printing styles available. There is little to no manual labor required, which also makes it more affordable.

Cost Efficient

As mentioned above, flexographic printing is mostly automated, relying very little on any manual labor. This is partially what makes it so cost-effective. The ink used in printing is also much cheaper than other printing methods.

The only real cost associated with this type of printing is the plates that are used to print onto the material chosen for the process and the materials themselves. Since the orders are done in large quantities, it ends up saving quite a bit of money.

Speed

A flexographic printer uses the most of the space it has available either vertically or horizontally before the printed information gets cut into the right shape. This ability means that a flexographic printer can print up to 750 meters each minute.

When looking at a whole hour, it can print up to 45 kilometers, a relatively high volume compared to other printing types. This makes even rush jobs a possibility since the turnaround time is so quick.

Versatile

There is no one right way to print something using flexographic printing services. Since it prints using plates with materials fed from rolls and then cut into the right size, almost anything can get printed in any size. There is no waste of space or materials as the printer prints in record time.

Apart from printing size or type of label or image necessary, flexographic printing uses many different types of inks from water-based to fluorescent to metallic makes the images vibrant and eye-catching.

No Question of Choice

With so many advantages of flexographic printing, there is virtually no question as to which option a company should choose for their printing needs. Though it may not work with smaller jobs, it’s perfect for larger orders. No matter the needs of a company, flexographic printing is flexible enough to make any type of label or imagine someone can imagine.

Rite Envelope and Graphics, Inc., as the best printing company, has flexographic printing services available for any company in need of printing services serving the Baltimore, New York, and Washington areas.
